"Dear Lance:
I started my law enforcement career nearly 30 years ago with the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, working my way up the ranks and eventually being elected as Sheriff of Shasta County in 2006.
While attending Shasta College and majoring in Administration of Justice, I began my exposure to law enforcement as a security guard for North State Security. This initial exposure showed me the importance of responsibility, integrity, professionalism, appearance in uniform, and dealing with a diverse public and the customers that we served.
I know many officers and law enforcement executives, in their early beginnings in a public service career, started in a security field. I also believe that it is as important today as it was decades ago that the security field provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to become initiated into a public safety or law enforcement career.
I would like to thank you and the other security service businesses in the north state for the services you provide to your clients and for the partnership you have with local law enforcement."
  -Tom Bosenko, Sheriff, Shasta County

"Hello Craig,
My name is Larry W., and my wife and I are avid users of the Redding Library. For the past few years, the library had been a very scary place to visit and use. As we all know, the problem with homelessness is a real issue in Redding.
We have noticed change / improvement the past 2-3 months. One of the big reasons for the improvement has been your employee, Eric M. Our visits to the library are safe because of Eric. Please forward our appreciation to Eric and let him know that his work has not gone unnoticed. Thank you, Larry W."

On 16 June 1990, North State Security Officer Tim Smith and then Captain Mark McKain ran into a burning mobile home and rescued an infant from his crib. McKain gave the child rescue breaths until the infant started breathing again. For their heroism, Smith and McKain were given an award by then Attorney General John Van de Kamp and were also presented with the William H Brownyard Award for Meritorious Service, California's highest award in the private Security industry.

"I want to thank you and your fine staff of professional security officers for the excellent service tendered at [address removed] in Redding.
The Spanish Arms Apartments were undergoing extensive remodeling and renovation work and the security provided by your firm helped keep the loss from theft down to a non-existent level and helped deter all other criminal and nefarious behavior throughout the nights.
We as well as the owners of the property appreciate the professional manner in which your officers conducted themselves in all situations that occurred over the course of the construction time period. Every time any activity needed action, your officers responded in a timely manner and contacted the Redding Police Department for prompt Response.
Thanks again and know full well that should we need security services in the future, we will certainly contact North State Security."
  -Walt Swift, Owner, Swift Properties.

"As a result of my concerns over theft and vandalism at some of my company's former building sites, Palomar Builders has utilized the security services of North State Security, Inc. on an as needed basis for nearly a decade. We have hired their patrol as well as placed officers on sites.
My job superintendents and I have always found North State Security to be extremely responsive to our continuing concerns. Their management team has consistently sent a very high quality of security personnel, sometimes with very little notice, to our job sites. Furthermore, they have been very effective overall, from the uniformed guard protecting our construction equipment and other valuables to the professional managers at their downtown headquarters.
As a result of contracting services with North State Security they have repeatedly prevented any form of mischief while on duty. In fact, in the spring of 2006, one of their officers was directly responsible for stopping a "grand theft" in progress, sending the thief off to jail where he most certainly belonged! This incident also assisted local law enforcement agencies in tying the culprit into other crimes he had committed. Palomar Builders wishes to Congratulate North State Security Inc. for their 40 years of service to our community. Simply put, they are the best!"
 -Jeb Allen, President, Palomar Builders

"Your team was absolutely wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better group of people to ensure the security of our site. Thank you!"
  -Andrea Iverson, Apeture Aviation

"Dear Mr Boek,
I am a part of the Colusa Co-Generation Project. Today we had a ceremony on site. My wife and I, in the course of business, are regularly on site. I wish to compliment your employees, Bill and Christie. They are most professional and courteous."
  -Jim Nielsen, California State Senator

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the outstanding service that your North State Security Officers have given Shasta High School. Each officer has been very professional and has had a strong desire to do a great job. They have earned the respect of our staff as well as our students for a job well done. North State Security is to be commended for the professional manner in which their employees serve their customers. We couldn't ask for a better agency to provide services to our school.
-Milan Woolard, Principal, Shasta High School

"Just wanted to thank you in writing for the outstanding [job] you and your people did during the Redding Showcase of Homes.
The gate guard at Stanford Hills had a very difficult job trying to manage the gate, yet workers and selected visitors in during the show.
Galen and the other you assigned as Show Security were especially good. I have produced shows like the Showcase of Homes for over 30 years, and I can easily say North State Security has, by far, the most professional Security people I have ever had working my shows.
Also, Thanks for the quick response to my last minute request for additional people, I really appreciated that."
-James Goodrich, Director of Events, Strategy Event Management

"On behalf of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, please accept my thanks and appreciation for your actions on December 8, 1999, during the robbery of the Sierra Central Credit Union in Redding.
Although working at a different bank, you astutely recognized that Bobby Ray Green was robbing the Sierra Central Credit Union and reacted swiftly to gather additional information. By following Green to his vehicle, you were able to provide crucial details to law enforcement officers in the area. These observations directly contributed to Green's capture less than 10 minutes later.
On July 20, 2000, Bobby Ray Green was convicted in U.S. District Court, Sacramento, for the Redding robbery and for eight other bank robberies in California, Nevada, and Illinois. He was subsequently sentenced to a 51.5 year federal incarceration, to begin after Green has completed his previous state sentence of 18 years within the Arkansas State Correctional system.
Again, please accept our thanks and gratitude. Your contributions to this investigation were truly appreciated."
-James Maddock, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation

"On August 23, 1999, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection [CAL Fire] set up a base camp at the Anderson Fair Grounds in Anderson, California. North State Security Company was requested to provide private security to the base. Under my direction, we were responsible for the protection and security of the public, firefighters, base staff, vendors, and hundreds of thousands of dollars of firefighting and support equipment.
During my assignment as the Security Manager I had the pleasure of working with your staff. Your employees assigned to this incident base performed up and beyond what was expected. I specifically wanted to discuss Captains John J. and Ken N. Both Captains performed in a professional manner. Captains John J. and Ken N. were able to handle changing situations [and] needs in a timely manner. Both communicated well with my staff and I. Both Captains are a credit to your company. I hope I have the opportunity to work with them in the future."
-Candace Gregory, Unit Chief, CDF (CAL Fire)

"On behalf of the Department of Social Services, I wanted to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for the service you have provided this department, especially our night crew, over the past six months. Your staff has been exceptionally courteous and helpful to our night supervisor, always willing to take that extra little step to ensure the safety of our employees.
I commend you and your staff on your professionalism and look forward to doing business with you in the future."
